Glory

Once carried by a TITAN called Myrmidon, a team of Sentinels encountered this virus aboard a ship called the Song Cai Flower. The team (and Firewall) believes that they contained the viruses spread to the Song Cai Flower, which was successfully intercepted and destroyed before it reached its destination, wherever that was. However, Mason Wang and Blue Pod both expressed interest in the Sentinels’ actions, and Firewall was alerted to keep an eye on them. Also, Dexter Vo, the leader of the White Khans gang (the ship’s operators and crew, now all infected) escaped via emergency farcaster, and Firewall remains on the lookout for him.

The Glory virus spreads via nanobot swarms, as one of, and possibly its only, vector(s). Zanzibar Tranh was infected and purged before he could spread it further. It seems to make infected transhumans more cunning and aggressive, but also increasingly mentally unstable and prone to cannibalism. It also transforms some infected into exsurgents known as “breeders” or “drones” with thick, leathery, dull grey skin, and jaws grown jagged, extended, and enlarged. They are hairless but covered in small spines, and their eyes are unusually far apart, and cat-like. Their hands and feet have fused to have 3 digits, with hardened and elongated nails, and they use their feet interchangably with their hands, though they still appear roughly bipedal. Females “breeders” possess ovipositors to implant eggs into external wombs grown by another exsurgent type, known as the “mother,” after being inseminated by the male “breeder” types. “Drones” engage in other unclear roles, or are possibly merely not yet fully transformed into exsurgents.
